On Duty

So here's the duty story that I will never be able to tell the people I should have told it about...

I began my "duty" in April. The schedule was tight, there were only 4 duty officers (with me still just sharing responsibilities) which translated to 1-week every month cycle. After several months and several cycles, I talked to my mentor if I could begin my solo duty in order to extend the cycle an additional week for all of us. We talked to several other people and then it was agreed: I was going to be allowed, although prematurely, to do my duty by myself...

I honestly thought it would do me and my co-duty officers good... but...

When the new duty roster came out, I discovered that I was scheduled to be on duty on Nov 2-9, Dec 7-14 and Dec 28 - Jan 4. That includes New Year, the company Family Day on the 8th of Dec, and the long weekend Nov 1-4, for which I already have tickets to go to Boracay with my girlfriend...

On the day that I got the new duty roster, I sent emails to all the other duty officers if I could swap schedules. I found a replacement for Nov 2 and Nov 4, but for Nov 3 I still had to be on duty. I've exhausted my options and am now desperate for a replacement.

My hopes lie in 2 people I will have to ask next week...
