Random: Balong Malalim, Blood and Batangas

This, of course, is in reverse...
  • MONDAY - I went to the clinic today to get a sliver out of my right thumb and get a flu vaccine. The former hurt more coz the nurse had to really dig for it under the skin with a needle. And yes, there was blood.
  • SUNDAY - Still On duty in Batangas. Liz has been here since Friday night. Thank God. I had an odd feeling I would go crazy if I was alone that weekend. Blah.
  • SATURDAY - My Tatay & my baby sis came back from US of A today. But I can't pick them up from the airport coz imma stuck in Batangas. // Do you know that song: "Gusto kong mag-swimming! Sa balong malalim!"? It's an oldie rock and roll song from Juan dela Cruz. It was awesome, I got to sing it for a Shell event. And even though it felt really weird, posing as a rakista and not being very convincing, I still enjoyed it. haha! Missing singing. We also did "Shadows grow so long (before my eyes!)" and "Surroundings (aka Kapaligiran)".
Gusto pang kumain! Kumain ng kumain! Di naman nabubusog sa kanyang kinain!
  • FRIDAY - I thought I had seen the last of this RCA. Oh was I ever wrong...
Other random thoughts:
  1. It's freakin raining again?!?!?
  2. My thumb hurts. And I have scratched all over my arms and legs. I'm never gardening again.
  3. David Cook won AI7 last week. And now he has 11 songs in the Billiboard Hot 100! Holy crup!
  4. Hot and Spicy Nagaraya. Yum. What's for dinner. I'm hungry!!!
  5. Who cares?

You know how there are lists floating around of these awesome inventions by Filipinos and some of them turn out to be hoaxes?  This invention, a jeepney coin sorter, I wish was real.  Unfortunately it doesn't exist.  Challenge accepted... anyone? __________________________________________________________ One of my machine design projects when I was still taking up my Mechanical Engineering was a coin sorter and wrapper, made even more challenging by the professor's requirement that it should have a single input action, say a rotating motion.  We never finished it and had to change projects halfway through.  But remembering it got me thinking... I wonder how much interest there would there be for a jeepney coin sorter?

"I miss those lovely days of..."

A Theme Thursday post "Good day sunlight, I'd like to say how truly bright you are..." Summer ended early in the Philippines this year. Too early! It was only the beginning of May when the first typhoon arrived and a storm warning signal was declared over parts of the Philippines. Now as I type this post, typhoon Feria (local name) is raging outside my window... Next week it will be July. That means hoping for a bright sun shiny day is over, summer has lost to rain. This battle is now over. Soon the rains will completely take over: the skies will be dark for most of the day, the stars at night hidden by the dark clouds. "You don't know me, but I know you, see, you're my favorite star..." I miss the summer, when the sun is out and up. I miss the beach at summertime, when the sand and the water is warm and the nights a cool respite. I miss having ice cream and halo-halo to cool off. I miss not needing to bring an umbrella every time I leave the ...

My Self Indulgent Birthday Blog Post 28

Can you believe I'm turning 28? I almost cannot. Almost! Here's some random ramblings and a few photos for your enjoyment. Lol.  I'm too old for this   Is it just me or have all 20-something-year-old's I know have fallen into a state of constantly thinking we are too old for anything fun. Staying out 'til 3am drinking and dancing doesn't sound too appealing to me, especially since I'd rather spend my weekends without a thumping hangover. I'm just too old to be drunk at a club at 3 in the morning...  OK OK It's probably just me. :p Then I also said the same thing about Social Media and blogging - and I still feel that way sometimes. I'm too old for Facebook . I'm too old for Twitter . Doh. Just Friend or Follow me. :p But even American Idol thinks I'm too old. Hehe. They have an age limit of 28. The truth is, though, I am not too old for anything. YOU are not too old for anything. We should not be held back by those numbers,...
