Theme Thursday: Animal

こんにちは、ようこそ!
Here's a couple of weird/unique animals we saw at the zoo in Tagaytay.

The first one is a 5 legged-cow...

This second one is an albino carabao (water bufallo) with an albino baby...

Both photos are from my Valentine's Day 2009 set, Liz and I went up to Tagaytay for Valentine's Day, which will be the topic of a separate post. :p

On Thursday we're off to Baguio! Yay!

  3. Hi! Reyjr,
The five legged cow may have an additional leg due to mutation. I'am not sure, I'am just guessing, but of course!...Albino cow?...once again I'am guessing, lack of melanin or pigmentation?!?

A very " interesting and unique" theme for Thursday.
Take care! and Tks, for sharing!
    Deedee ;-D

I'am so sorry! I meant to say carabao, instead of, a cow.

An Albino carabao and baby?...once again I'am guessing, but lack of melanin or pigmentation ?!?

  6. How strange--but the animal doesn't seem concerned about the extra appendage!

  10. That was an interesting picture, I have never seen a cow with 5 legs. I wonder if it helps with balance. The Albino baby is so cute.

Thanks for coming back to TT. Nice to have you.

    God bless.

    Salamat.

  11. I want to feel sorry for the 5-legged cow, but as Leah pointed out, he doesn't seem to mind.

Unusual animals. Thanks for playing, Reyjr!

By the way, if you would indulge me just a bit? I have no idea what a 'syzygy' is, and why is it good to be born then?

  12. HELLO everyone! We just got back last night from our vacation in Baguio (north of the Philippines).
    Thanks for the visit!

Kris - i'd say good for scratching its back, but from the looks of it, i think it can't move the extra leg!
    Ronda - thanks!
Booksandacup.. - yep, it's a vestigial organ, the extra leg. and the albino baby is the baby of an albino male and albino female carabao. (it's a recessive gene!)
Willow - lol. it's a bit freaky, but i've seen extra fingers on humans too!
    Brian - thanks!
    Marianna - lol & thanks!
Leah - it was just hanging there really. haha.
VE - haha, nope, it's just naked all the time. haha!
    Candie - thank you!
Dakota - thanks! I'm glad to be back (and happier that the shutdown is over!)
    Cuppa - lol. poor cow!
Mrsupole - they were both very striking and interesting!

    THANK YOU all for visiting!

  13. I'm not much for zoos, but I do love the animals all the same. And re-tweeting 10 months later to resurrect the post is pure genius! =) Bravo!
